IIMHN announces Workshop Programme for 2016 (Hearing Voices, Paranoia, Trauma, Dissociation and Voice Dialogue)
The IIMHN is pleased to announce its programme for practice development for 2016 in association with the Office of Nursing and Midwifery Services Development. This year we plan to offer an even wider range of workshops, and in addition to our developments on hearing voices for both adults and younger people, we are pleased to add new workshops on working with paranoia, trauma and dissociation and voice dialogue. The workshops will be facilitated by Jacqui Dillon, Peter Bullimore, Rachel Waddingham, Elisabeth Svanholmer & Rufus May, who are leaders in these areas.
The workshops will be held nationwide with the support of the Schools of Nursing in DCU, UCD, TCD, UCC and NUIG. These workshops will encompass novice, intermediate and advanced level techniques in facilitation of the processes involved. To book a place on one of these workshops please email or phone the designated contact person for the workshop in the list below.
Hearing Voices
This year in addition to the workshops delivered previously by Jacqui Dillon in voices awareness training, hearing voices group facilitation and advanced facilitation techniques, the IIIHN is pleased to welcome Elisabeth Svanholmer & Rufus May who will deliver workshops in Dublin, Cork and Galway on voice dialogue. We are also pleased to welcome back Rachel Waddingham who once again will deliver a series of workshops on working with younger people who hear voices.
Trauma and Dissociation
In a new development and following emerging trends in mental health, Jacqui Dillon will deliver a series of workshops on trauma and dissociation. these workshops will deal with the areas of responsiveness and awareness for supporting survivors of trauma and abuse and seek to increase knowledge of working therapeutically with dissociative experiences and use of the DES-II. It is hoped that the series of workshops will lead to the development of a greater understanding of the clinical relevance of dissociation and help participants increase their awareness of effective short and long-term strategies for reducing distress and gaining control.
Paranoia Workshops
Following on from the success of the hearing voices workshops this year the IIMHN are embarking on a series of workshops on working with paranoia, delivered by Peter Bullimore founder of the Paranoia Network UK. these workshops will be delivered in NUIG, TCD and UCC.
